Introduction
I am leading an independent junior research group
(Emmy Noether group) at the Institute for
Theoretical Physics
of the Georg August University in
Goettingen, Germany. I am also member of the collaborative
research center SFB937 "Collective behavior of soft and
biological matter" (project A 16).
Our research is concerned with the elasticity and rheology of amorphous materials. Current research projects involve the mechanics of cytoskeletal networks/bundles, as well as the jamming transition in suspensions, emulsions or granular materials. For more information on our research projects please see the Research section.
New: How to melt a granular glass by cooling ? -- just published in PRL .
New: We are organizing a "Barkhausen" symposium "Crackling noise and intermittency in condensed matter" (22.5-24.5.2013).
