Welcome

Simulation of a Cell Membrane About the necessity of computer simulations (by Tom Swanson)

Welcome to my homepage. For those of you that do not know: I recently finished my PhD in Statistical Physics at the Georg-August-University Göttingen in the group of Richard Vink, Lamellar Phase in a simple Copolymer Model where I am currently employed as a post-doc. My research focus is the investigation of phase behavior of mixtures in the presence of random static obstacles (quenched disorder). For this, I use computer simulations (usually Monte-Carlo simulations) of model systems whose computational complexity can range from a few seconds on a single desktop computer to tens of thousands of CPU-hours for statistically meaningful results.

This homepage mostly contains data related to my work as a scientist: A collection of my scientific publications and talks and comments for the students of some of the courses I tutored in the past. In addition to this, I use this page for leaving notes raging from work related to-do lists to more private information like the phone number of the local Pizza delivery service - but these personal data are not available for the public.
